Nuclear Technology Germany (KernD)

KernD (Nuclear Technology Germany e. V.) was founded in 1959 as DAtF (German Atomic Forum e. V.). In 2019, a merger with the Business Association Nuclear Fuel Cycle and Nuclear Technology e. V. (WKK) took place.

Its members include organizations from all sectors and fields of application of nuclear technology: utilities, manufacturers, suppliers, service providers, universities and research institutes, trade associations, etc.

The association considers itself as a competence center for public and regulatory dialogue in the field of nuclear technology. The issues Kernd is concerned with are, among other things, nuclear power plants still in operation, decommissioning and waste management, radiation protection, the nuclear industry and research location, especially with regard to reactor safety research, transportation and nuclear technology in everyday life.

The governing body of the KernD is the General Assembly. The General Assembly elects the Steering Board. The Steering Board consists of the chairman, the two deputy chairmen, the treasurer and a maximum of five other board members.
